Having moved my young family from Maine to New Hamsphire in 1988 Rob set up Valley Dental Arts in downtown North Conway, NH next to the train station and grew to 8 employees. Eventually scaling back over the years to sole employee. Currently set up in a state of the art 650sqft studio at his residence able to focus on high quality restorative solutions for a small group of dedicated professionals.

Upon leaving the military, Rob set up a new Fixed Prosthetics lab in Searsport, Maine for Coastal Prosthics. His first customer was his brother in Augusta, Dr. Paul Zimmerman
Master Instructer / Advanced Dental Lab Program at Sheppard AFB School of Health Care Sciences
All phases Fixed and Removable Prosthetics were taught to returning students who had experience in the field already. Worked directly under several Prosthodontists most notably though was Col Charles Dufort who now has a private practice in Vancouver, Wa. Was directly envolved in the complete overall of the laboratory curriculum which included authoring several chapters in the training manuals. It was during this time that Rob researced and had published his article "Tooth Histology as Related to Dental Ceramics" in the prestigious Quintessence of Dental Technology.

Robs direct duty assignment from basic training. Because of previous civilian experience Rob became the 'go to' technician in the clinic for the most difficult cases. Rob attended Southern Illinois University's Students in Uniform program to work on his Bachelors degree in Occupational Education and requested instructor duty assignment.
Co-Owner Eastland Dental Lab Columbus, Oh
Only 2 years after college Rob contacted college friend and eventual business partner Jim Chivington, together they opened Eastland Dental Lab in Columbus, Oh. Growing it from the ground up they built a solid following of young dentists. Boredom set in and the business was sold and Rob joined the United States Airforce. Rob and Jim remain friends to this day, re-uniting on occasion at the Chicago Mid Winter dental meeting having way too much fun.
